AGNIVEERABADRA SWAMI Legend records the advent of 16 Veerabhadras to punish Daksha for culminating Shiva. Accordingly Veerabhadra shown with flashing eyes and twitching whiskers; the scorpion on his matted hair described in his Sahasranama a grand spectacle. |
AGORA VEERABATHIRAR Imposing Aghora Veerabhadra holding the sword with an elan. Hos grip on the shield is super. |
ALANKAATTUK KALIAMMAN The ashamed countenance of Thillaikali Vanquished in the cosmic dance with shiva seen from the front and her ire seen from the right and the architectural marvel of the accompnaying dance on the sides. |
NIRUTHA GANAPATHI The single stone sculpture shows Ganapathi with his right foot on the ears of his vechile, the mouse whose nails on the feet are visible individually on the stone. |
PICHANDANA MOORTHY Bikshatanar in some roles in a structural wonder. The Lord appeared as a rude mendicant to curb the arrogance of the sages of Darukavana. Gundodara, Nagu-vendalai, deer and the snakes emanating from the sacrifice surrendered unto shiva. A very beautiful ouece if sculpture. The Lord's form is bent like an octagon. |
ARUMUGA SUBRAMANIYAR His magnificent pose with a pendant on the chest, the structure of the peacock's feather and the fingers on the feet are an architectural piece of beauty. One face is embedded inside the pillar. |
VURTHUVA THANDAVA MOORTHY The best of his 108 dancing pstures. Raising ht right foot to pick the flower from the crown and giving it by the left hand shows its intrinsic workmanship. Five-headed Brahma watching the dance Mahavishnu's beat with hands and Karaikkal Ammaiyar's obeisance, a splendid piece of architecture. |
YANAIYURI PORTHA MOORTHY Killing Gajasura, the Lord couverd himself with the asura's skin. The muscle strength of the folds fof the Lord's legs is marvelous. |
